Seven Dials, London with Tony Bulmer
If like me you are a big fan of legendary mystery writer Agatha Christie you might want to check out the Seven dials neighborhood in Covent Garden London. The Neighborhood is actually an intersection with seven sundials mounted on an oberlisk in the center of the street. The area still has strong links to the Christie legend, you can find a statue dedicated to her around the back of Leicester Square tube station. While just around the corner at the St Martin‘s theatre you can also go see the long running Christie play The Mousetrap—named after the play within a play in Hamlet. Interestingly, Harlan Coben set part of his novel Home in Seven Dials, and the tiny pub the Crown is craftily levered into the plot. The other cool thing about this land mark neighbor hood is the fact that every street leads to somewhere equally cool. If you take the right road you can come visit me in my London apartment, or maybe head to Neal Street or Shorts gardens, and find yourself wandering around the awesome Neal’s Yard. Then if you head down Dover street you will come out on Charing Cross road, home to some of the best bookshops in London.
